Established in 1997, Ridgeway Consulting Ltd is made up of a small team of dedicated professionals who understand the constantly changing demands placed on those who procure and maintain our nation's highway infrastructure. Our team brings together a wealth of experience in the highways industry, from both the public and private sectors, which ranges across the preparation, management and supervision of contracts for the construction and maintenance of roads and structures from the very large to the very small. We also have considerable expertise in the day to day management of highway network operations, using both internal and outsourced consultancy and contractor arrangements, and also of the management of health and safety in both design and construction.

We are named after the Ridgeway, one of the oldest highways in the country, to reflect our aspiration to provide a long-term and reliable service to the road transport industry and to become a preferred provider of quality support. Our motto, "Committed to Quality, Built on Experience", summarises the way that we go about our business. We are dedicated to fully understanding and meeting our clients' needs by providing them with excellent specialist knowledge and expertise, delivered with helpfulness, loyalty and integrity.

Because of the changes that are occurring in modern highway services, in response to Best Value, the teams that provide them must be both flexible in composition and loyal to the achievement of their objectives. At Ridgeway, we aim to enable our customers to manage these changes effectively and efficiently by offering dedicated people who will complement our clients' skill base as and when they are needed.

Quality Management

While the size of our company does not warrant the use of a formal quality management system such as the ISO 9000 standard, our management processes are continually being developed, largely in accordance with recognised best practice.

Our interest in health, safety and welfare issues in our industry is well known and we are totally committed to promoting these issues with all of our staff, associates and clients.

Environmental Protection

We recognise the importance of protecting the environment and are committed to doing what we can to safeguard it for the future. As we specialise in contract preparation, we believe that the most meaningful contribution that we can make is to encourage our clients to specify materials and processes that minimise waste and maximise sustainability. Ridgeway is especially interested in the potential to increase the use of recycled materials in highway construction and maintenance. We have also adopted a policy of giving preference, wherever commercially viable, to the use of materials and products that are not harmful to the environment, are selected from sustainable material sources, and are recycled, or are recyclable.

Confidentiality, ICT & Disaster Recovery

We understand both the confidentiality and importance of the information that we handle for our clients. We operate state-of-the-art computer and automated data back-up systems, protected by the latest anti-virus and firewall software. Ridgeway also follows a strict policy of shredding any sensitive or commercially confidential information.
