About Us

The A10 in Royston - Ridgeway Consulting Ltd.

The service we offer is provided by a small team of conscientious and experienced professionals, each carefully selected for their commitment to quality and their specialist knowledge in particular areas. At Ridgeway, we are focussed on meeting our clients' needs and this is reflected in the way that we offer our services. While we are always delighted to address the specific requirements of any potential client, we have found that most organisations prefer to use our services through one or more of the following procurement mechanisms:

Specific Responses

We understand that there are occasions when technical issues arise that require an accurate and timely response. Where in-house resources are limited, handling these issues often engage a disproportionate amount of staff time and sometimes uncertainty of the quality of the reported results. Help from the larger consultancy organisations is often prohibitively expensive and complicated to procure, with no guarantee that the answer provided specifically answers the actual question asked.

At Ridgeway, we care about our customers and our own professionalism. We pride ourselves on providing a personal service that is tailored to meet their individual needs at a realistic cost. We always aim to deliver a timely response to queries, delivered in context within which they were raised, often supplemented with additional helpful suggestions or comments.

Service Level Agreements

We understand that some of our clients prefer to have the added reassurance and simplicity of a Service Level Agreement, whereby specialist advice is always available on a "call off" basis. We are more than happy to discuss each individual client's needs and to provide the level of service needed.

Fixed Term Commissions

This type of commission is more suitable to work, such as the preparation of a technical report on a specific subject or the checking of draft tender documents, where the nature and extent of work is precisely defined at the time that it is requested. Such arrangements give the client budget certainty. However, if there is any lack of clarity about the amount of work involved, we will have to include our estimate of the cost of this risk which will inevitably be reflected in our offered fee.

Time Charge Commissions

This arrangement is preferred by those clients who commission us to undertake more complex work, such as assessing the relative suitability of alternative service procurement strategies, or the development of draft tender documentation. In these circumstances we usually provide our clients with an indicative estimate of the cost and submit detailed records of the time allocated to each aspect of the project. The advantage of this system is that the client can closely monitor progress and keep control of spending on a project, while receiving constantly updated assessments of likely future expenditure.

Secondment of Specialists

We understand that, in some cases, our clients' procurement systems are best able to handle the engagement of our services through terms similar to those offered by recruitment agencies. We have recognised this and are usually able to organise the secondment of our specialists to our clients in this manner if required.

Temporary or Permanent Recruitment

While recruitment is not a core part of our business we may, in certain cases, be able to assist in identifying people who might be suitable to fulfil a long term or permanent need in our clients' organisations.
